1. About these terms
By creating an account, accessing TVERN or using TVERN’s features, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Community Standards. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not create an account or continue using TVERN.
2. Who may use TVERN
TVERN is intended for adults aged 18 and over. You must not create or use an account if you are under 18.
You are responsible for providing accurate account information and for keeping access to your account secure. Do not share passwords or allow another person to use your account as if it were theirs.
3. What TVERN is
TVERN is a community platform designed for dads. It may provide community discussions, anonymous-to-community questions, replies, local “Looking For” requests, events, recommendations, reviews, saved items, notifications and related features.
TVERN does not guarantee that content posted by members is accurate, complete, safe or suitable for your circumstances. Community content is not professional medical, legal, financial or safeguarding advice.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree that you will:
- follow these terms and the Community Standards;
- treat other members reasonably and respectfully;
- not use TVERN for unlawful, abusive, exploitative or deceptive activity;
- not attempt to identify the author of anonymous content through harassment, technical circumvention or disclosure of private information;
- not post private information about another person without an appropriate reason or permission;
- take sensible precautions before meeting another member offline; and
- report serious safety concerns through the in-app reporting tools or support channels.
5. User-generated content
You retain ownership of content you create. By posting or submitting content to TVERN, you give TVERN a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, display and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, moderate, secure and improve the service.
This licence ends when the content is deleted from TVERN’s active service, except where limited retention is reasonably necessary for backups, legal obligations, safety investigations, abuse prevention, moderation records or legal claims.
You must have the right to post any content you submit. Do not upload material that infringes another person’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights.
6. Anonymous posting
Where TVERN offers anonymous posting, the identity of the author is hidden from normal community display. Anonymous content is not anonymous to TVERN’s authorised moderation and safety systems.
You must not use anonymous posting to evade enforcement, harass another user, impersonate someone, make threats, distribute illegal material or bypass restrictions placed on your account.
7. Looking For requests, events and meeting people
TVERN helps members express interest in meeting other dads or taking part in activities. TVERN does not supervise those meetings and is not a party to arrangements made between members.
Use public places for first meetings, tell someone you trust where you are going, arrange your own safe transport, and do not share a home address unless you independently decide it is appropriate. If something feels unsafe, do not attend.
8. Reviews and recommendations
Reviews and recommendations are community opinions. TVERN does not guarantee product quality, availability, fitness for purpose or the accuracy of member reviews. Any purchasing decision is your responsibility.
9. Moderation and enforcement
We may review reports, investigate content and take proportionate action to protect TVERN and its users. Action may include hiding or removing content, warnings, temporary restrictions, suspension or permanent account removal.
We may take urgent action without prior notice where we reasonably believe this is necessary for user safety, platform security, legal compliance or prevention of serious harm.
Where appropriate, users may contact support if they believe an enforcement decision was made in error.
10. Account deletion
You may delete your account using the in-app account deletion feature. An external route is also explained on our Delete Account page.
Account deletion is permanent. Certain de-identified or limited safety, legal, fraud-prevention or moderation records may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally permitted.
11. Availability and changes
We may change, improve, suspend or discontinue features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Planned or emergency maintenance, third-party failures and security events may affect access.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access where you materially breach these terms, create safety or legal risk, abuse the platform, attempt to compromise the service, or where we are required to do so by law.
You remain responsible for obligations arising before termination.
13. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow us to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to that, TVERN is provided on an “as available” basis. We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these terms, losses caused by another user’s independent acts, or losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.
14. Intellectual property
The TVERN name, branding, software, interface, design and original platform materials are protected by intellectual property rights belonging to TVERN or its licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of those rights to you.
15. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is used, shared, retained and deleted.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms where TVERN changes, laws change or we need to address new safety or operational risks. Where a change materially affects existing users, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms removes rights you have under applicable consumer law.
